OUR STORY

In 2018, I stumbled upon a deeply touching narrative about a mother from my hometown who had tragically lost her battle with cancer. She left behind a young son, just like mine, and it struck a chord in my heart. Although I had no personal connection with this mother or her child, her story haunted my thoughts for several nights.

I couldn't help but worry about her son's future. Who would take care of him? Would he remember his mother? Would he comprehend the immense love she had for him and the fierce battle she fought to stay alive for him? It felt profoundly unfair, and I was filled with anger and sorrow on her behalf. As a mother myself, I understood that our greatest fear isn't death but leaving our children behind.

While many of us are fortunate to have a strong support network of family and friends who would care for our children, no one can replace a mother's love and care. No child should have to face life without their mother's presence. I knew I had to take action.

I decided to rally my friends and colleagues, and together we organized a fundraising event in 2018. We partnered with a local fitness gym, hosting a spinning and cycling class infused with fun old-school music provided by a local DJ. To our delight, we raised over $3,000 for our cause.

Since 2018, with the unwavering support of my family and friends, we've been able to assist more than 65 families. In 2020, following the loss of a dear friend, we expanded our mission to include single, childless women. The battle against cancer is a formidable challenge, and many women lack the support necessary to navigate this difficult journey. Numerous single women find themselves without local family support or even any family at all. No one should have to endure this ordeal in solitude, making life-altering decisions or facing the end of life without companionship.

Our mission is clear: to ensure that everyone facing cancer feels cherished and cared for during this challenging period

Happy Friends
